Paralegal Job Description:

Paralegals in Ontario must have graduated from a Law Society of Upper Canada accredited Paralegal Education program and hold a valid paralegal license in order to represent someone in a legal capacity. Paralegals in Ontario can represent clients:in Small Claims Courtin the Ontario Court of Justiceon summary conviction offences where the maximum penalty does not exceed six months' imprisonment and /or a $5,000 finebefore administrative tribunalsParalegals should have computer and technical knowledge as well as strong analytical, communication and organizational skills. 

Typical Duties of a Paralegal:

Give legal advice concerning legal interests, rights or responsibilities with respect to a proceeding or the subject matter of a proceeding Draft or assist with drafting documents for use in a proceeding Negotiate on behalf of a person who is a party to a proceeding
